At approximately 12:30 PM, STK was offered the K-6 art teacher position at a kind-of-local school district. She accepted the position. Provided everything goes okay with state licensing and the school board, STK will return to the teaching fold in August.
Nice work STK. You're one of the best art teachers out there and it obviously shows. You go on one interview and get a job. For the baseball fans out there, that's what you call batting 1.000.

Hooray! Congratulations, you two.
That's a lot better than my average. The one district I've had a fomal interview with just e-mailed me to tell me they've instituted a hiring freeze until further notice.
Any hints?
By the way, that last comment was me. Blogger's twitchy today....
Awesome news! They (whomever "they" are) say that good things come in 3s. 1-You got the condo monkey off your backs. 2-New job for STK. Is three going to be a new home?
The new home is a definite possibility. We've decided to wait until all the specifics regarding STK's job are finalized (contract, school board, etc) and the condo deal is signed. After that, I think we'll probably start looking around town and see if there's anything to our liking. If not, we'll wait it out a year or two. The place we're in right now is ridiculously inexpensive so there's non real rush.

The only major hint I have is to target "undesirable" districts right out of the chute. If you can stick out in a touch district for a couple years, you'll pick up some much needed experience.
Any word on the potential TX gig?
Yeah, I got an e-mail last week saying the district is now re-evaluating its needs and is on hiring freeze until further notice.
Grrrrr.
